Draw what you looked like before you learned to be small

Before the apologies. Before the shrinking. There was a version of you who took up exactly the right amount of space. What did that child look like? What were they doing?

This prompt asks for softness. Go slowly. Be gentle with what comes up.

Before you begin

Body check-in

01

Place one hand on your chest before you begin. Feel your own heartbeat.

02

If emotion comes up, let it — you do not have to manage it or explain it.

03

Work slowly. There is no deadline here.

These are invitations, not instructions. Take what is useful.

While you work

Sit with these

  1. 01

What did that younger version of you most need to hear?

  2. 02

What did they love that you have stopped letting yourself love?

  3. 03

What would you say to them if you could sit with them right now?

You do not have to answer these. Let them sit beside you while you work.

After you finish

A moment of closing

01Look at what you made

Not to judge it. Just to see it. What is there that you did not expect?

02Notice how you feel

Different from when you started? The same? Neither is wrong. Just notice.

03Acknowledge yourself

You showed up. You made something. That is the whole practice. That is enough.
